Description

In this episode, we honor the life and work of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg and celebrate women in legal professions. Meredith Renquin, an attorney and litigator with the firm Rutherford & Christie, joins us to discuss the unique challenges and opportunities women who serve in adversarial positions experience on a daily basis. When confrontation, dispute and conflict resolution are a daily part of one’s job description, how do you simultaneously balance assertiveness and empathy? We discuss what it means to re-imagine how we put ourselves in the shoes of others in moments of extreme stress and strain. And how to maintain your own voice of power and reputation as a subject matter expert in places where you may be considered an outsider, while holding others in high regard with whom you may have fundamental differences. This episode is truly about respect for different opinions, championing women who truly advocate and flight for the rights of all Americans, and creating opportunities for new types of discourse in a moment of time of extreme division.
