Neurodiversity-what does that mean? We’ve heard about diversity in other contexts-racial, gender, ethnic, sexual. According to the Center for Disease control, 1 in 54 children has been identified with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The brains of people on the spectrum are wired differently. A hallmark of ASD is difficulty with social communication and interaction with other people. We have all interacted with people on the spectrum-sometimes we’ve known it in advance and sometimes we have a sense that something feels different in the interaction.

Dr. Risa Ryger is a Clinical Psychologist and Founder of 93% Consulting. Dr. Ryger earned her Doctorate from Columbia University and has held academic appointments at New York-Presbyterian Hospital and Cornell University Medical School. She has consulted and given presentations to professional, legal, financial, fashion, education, and event planner industries among others. Dr. Ryger serves on the Advisory Council of Mindfulness Without Borders. She is the proud mother of two amazing daughters.

About Marcia
Marcia Scheiner is the President and Founder of Integrate Autism Employment Advisors (“Integrate”), the author of “An Employer’s Guide to Managing Professionals on the Autism Spectrum” (Jessica Kingsley Publishers, 2017) and a frequent speaker on how to create a successful workplace for autistic professionals. Prior to founding Integrate in 2010, Ms. Scheiner held senior management positions at Zurich Financial Services, Chase Manhattan Bank and Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce. Ms. Scheiner is a graduate of Wellesley College and has an MBA from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business. She is the parent of a young adult son with autism.
Integrate is a non-profit that works with organizations to help them identify, recruit and retain professionals on the autism spectrum.
