About Gretchen
Gretchen Harnick is a Brand Reinvention consultant, Professor, and multi-disciplinary professional in fashion and wellness. Her focus on building communities began early in her career as a VISTA Volunteer in rural Southwest Colorado. She worked in corporate marketing for 10 years before entering the fashion industry, opening a Showroom in Chicago and a retail boutique in Cleveland. Gretchen transitioned into academia as Department Director of the Fashion & Retail Management program at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in 2005. In 2009 she was recruited by Parsons, School of Fashion in NYC where she worked for 10 years as Assistant Professor of Fashion Marketing.
While at Parsons Gretchen coordinated external partnerships, the online program, and launched the social media platforms for the school. Gretchen consults with organizations around the world, managing showrooms in Paris, Tokyo and New York, and teaching Reinvention to business incubators, international wellness programs, and individuals. Gretchen conducts research, manages multiple website build-outs, supports clients with email marketing and content strategy, and negotiates global brand partnerships. She has an MBA in Marketing, a BA in Psychology and French, a 200-hour yoga teacher certification, and a Reinvention Practitioner certification.
